Sweet friends & family,

I pray that this message finds you healthy and safe, and that you are spending some quality time with your people during this season!!

I want to first of all say a huge Thank You for giving so generously to my trip to the Philippines and for encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone in this new way. I am honestly blown AWAY by the support that I have received—and in such a short span of time! I am now FULLY FUNDED and have reached my $4,550 goal, (woop!) and I didn’t do anything but mail some letters and trust God.

However, as we all know, this past month has been a wild one. My team leaders have been closely monitoring the Coronavirus and its development in all of the places that we would be staying for training and while we are on the field in Manila. Yesterday, they decided that it would be the best and the safest option for our trip to be cancelled...

HOWEVER, team members have been given the option to maintain the funds that we have raised so far and put them towards a future mission’s trip. Praise God! With that in mind, I have to decided to POSTPONE my trip until next summer, 2021.

I am choosing to look at this minor setback as a blessing from the Lord; I have been given a whole year now to prepare myself mentally, spiritually, and emotionally before I leave next summer. I have been blessed with TIME to dig my roots deep into the Word of God and to establish myself in His promises more than ever before.

I know that nothing comes as a surprise to God, and that this trip being postponed did not catch Him off guard one bit. Because of this, I have the peace and the confidence to say that I am not worried at all…I know that I was simply not meant to go this summer. I was meant to GROW this summer. I trust that He is sparing my team and I from something possibly detrimental by not sending us out this year.

But can I just say how excited I am to watch your donations impact the world next year??! I cannot guarantee just yet that I will be going to Manila next summer, but I CAN say that wherever I end up being sent is exactly where I was meant to be all along. (:

I love you guys, thank you so much for reading.

Please join me in continuing to pray for our nation and our world as we beat this virus!

Love and peace,

Cayla Wilburn
